David F. Whelchel

David Franklin Whelchel, age 87, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. He was born in Greenville SC on September 27, 1937. 

David graduated from Spartanburg High School and went on to the University of Alabama before retiring after 23 years in the United States Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jackie Hulot Whelchel and his daughter Karen Theresa Goglin.

Survivors include his loving son, John Karl; daughter-in-law, Yolanda; granddaughter, Deanna; current wife, Barbara Hart and loving members of the Martell, Tyree and Goglin families.

Services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in Gulf Breeze FL. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. followed by a service at 2 p.m. with full Military Honors.
