Daniel Turner

Daniel Francis Turner, Jr., age 76, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, was called home peacefully with his wife at his side May 09, 2021.  He was born May 23, 1944, in Cullman, Alabama to the late Daniel, Sr. and Marie Handcock Turner.  Danny attended high school at Hewitt Trussville, Trussville, Alabama.  He later attended the University of Montevallo.  He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed competing in Triathlons and other running events.  He was a proud member of the Capt’n Fun Running Club and the Tri Gulf Coast Triathlon Club.  There he spent many Sunday mornings with his daughter Danika, training for future events.

He is preceded in death by his parents.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Mae Turner; children, Brian (Tammy) Turner and Danika Turner; grandchildren, Gavin Turner and Alexis Turner; brother, Eddie (Jan) Turner; and a host of extended family and close friends.  He will be missed by the Pensacola Beach running community.

Visitation will be from 10:00am, until the service begins at 11:00am, Saturday, June 05, 2021, at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze FL 32563.  The funeral cortege will line up at 12:45pm, Monday, June 07, 2021, at Olive Baptist Church – Warrington Campus, 103 W. Winthrop Avenue, Pensacola FL 32507.  The procession will depart promptly at 1:00pm, for Barrancas National Cemetery where the Committal Service will begin at 1:30pm.  Special thanks are offered to the Patriot Guard Riders for honoring the family with their presence for the memorial service.
