Christine Childs

Christine Sall Childs 1950 - 2010 Christine Ann Sall Childs, 59, of Gulf Breeze, Fl, passed away on May 17, 2010, at home after a long battle with cancer. Chris was born in Boulder, CO on June 12, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Barbara Sall. Chris is survived by her husband, William Childs; siblings, Sharley Sall Bailey of Sterling, IL; Michael (Karen) Sall of Kearney, NE; Peter Sall of Scottsbluff, NE; Jessica Sall of Portland, OR; Daniel (Therese) Sall of Greenwood, IN; her children: Joey (Leslie) Childs, of O'Fallon, MO; Scott (Lesley) Childs, of Odenville, AL; Katie Childs, of Jacksonville, FL.; and Jenny Lynn Skaarer, of Midwest City, OK; 4 Grandchildren: Vivienne, Charlie, Peyton and Reese. Chris spent most of her life in Omaha, NE, where she met her husband who was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base. They were married in August of 1973. They moved to Pensacola in 1974. Chris worked for the State of Florida for 28 yrs, before she retired in 2004, as a Program Manager for the Dept of Health and Human Services. Chris had a zest for life and faced her battle with cancer with unrelenting courage and grace. Her joyous spirit and positive approach to life will truly be missed by all that knew her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola or the American Cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 21, 2010 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home of Gulf Breeze; the family will receive friends Thursday 5 - 7 PM at the funeral home.
