Christine Brown

October 3, 1951 — March 21, 2014

A devoted Christian and loving wife and mother, Christine Brown, 62, of Hot Springs Village, AR, went to her eternal home in heaven on Friday, March 21, 2014 in Hot Springs, AR. Chris was born in Panama City, FL to Leslie and Mary McCullough on October 3, 1951. She was raised with her sister, Gearldine and brother, Jim. She graduated from Vernon High School in 1970 and was beloved by her classmates in Vernon, Florida. She joined the Air Force and proudly served her country before marrying her true love, Harry Glenn Brown on May 7, 1976 in Fairbanks, Alaska. The loving couple had two blonde baby girls, Brandi and Brooke. Chris graduated from the University of West Florida. Her true passion was teaching 6th grade and middle school science, which she did for 32 years. She was honored with the "Teacher of the Year" award at every school district she taught in including: Armorel, Glen Rose, Gosnell, Blytheville and Jessieville. She was also honored with multiple volunteer awards. In addition to teaching, she gave many hours of her time to sponsor clubs and organizations including; youth bowling, cheerleading, National Honor Society, booster club and any other activity she was asked to help with. Her passion for education was only surpassed by her passion for Christ. Chris proudly sang in the choir, served as choir director, chaperoned youth group trips and faithfully attended church. She was currently a member of Jessieville Baptist church but visited many churches in the area to share her testimony of God's healing through her battle with cancer. She leaves behind her adoring husband Glenn, daughter Brandi Davis and her husband Phil and son Zach, daughter Brooke Brown and her fiancé Chad Chapman, and an amazing extended family who can't wait to see her in heaven. Visitation will be at Gross Funeral Home, Hot Springs, AR on Sunday, March 23, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Memorial Service will take place on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at Jessieville Baptist Church officiated by Brother Derrick Comb. Chris will be laid to rest with military honors at Barrancas National Cemetary in Pensacola, Florida on Wednesday, March 26th at 2:00 p.m.
