Charles R Teagle, age 92 of Gulf Breeze, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Charles was born in St. Augustine, Florida on December 16, 1922. He was preceded in in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Dorothy Ann, his only son, Charles Blan, a sister, Orah Cleaver and a special friend, Cathey Thompson, of The Blake. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Lyndall Ann (James) Wooten III, his grandson, James (Brittany) Wooten IV, his granddaughter, Carey (Brett) Huyser, four great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn and James Wooten V, Wyatt and Piper Huyser and a brother Walter (Louise) Teagle. Charles was a combat engineer participating in the Battle of the Bulge during WWII, as well as the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Retiring as a Colonel after twenty-nine years in the US Army, he moved to Pensacola Beach, FL where he, his wife and son founded C R Teagle Builders, Inc. The next twenty five years were spent building homes and enjoying sailing with his family. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the staff at The Blake of Gulf Breeze, where he lived happily for over six years. Many thanks also to the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice for the excellent care and support. A private family visitation will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 9 to 10:00 AM with burial to follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Emerald Coast Hospice or your favorite charity.
