Charles Henry Meyers, born November 12, 1925 in Bismarck, North Dakota passed away at his residence in Azalea Trace in Pensacola, Florida. Charles was a multi-talented man. He flew jet plane off aircraft carriers for the U S Navy, retiring from the Navy Reserves. He graduated as an Electrical Engineer from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI and worked for Chemstrand in Pensacola and NASA in Huntsville, Alabama until retirement, being instrumental in the moon mission. He married Ann Marie McClellan from Pensacola, FL in 1947 and together they had five children: Charles and Bill Meyers, Betsy Meyers, Kathy Martinez and Judy Kyvik. Charles and Ann had 10 grandchildren. Charles' accomplishments are numerous and remarkable. He and his older brother Harold and sister Mary grew up homesteading in North Dakota, moving to Wisconsin during the Dust Bowl Days. Charles joined the Navy, training in Pensacola to be a pilot. Twenty-two moves later Charles and Ann retired to Gulf Breeze, where they lived until relocating to Azalea Trace where they lived a comfortable, life being able to travel the world and visit their children. Charles was loved by many, and will be missed greatly by his family and friends. His reliability and generosity will serve as an example to his children. A man of few words, his actions speak as an example of a perfect life. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11:30 AM. Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:15 PM.
