Bob Dasho, born on September 2, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones while in prayer on December 10, 2024. A man of unwavering faith and love, Bob dedicated his life to serving his family, his church, and his country.
Bob proudly served in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life that instilled discipline and a strong sense of duty. There he began his career as an air traffic controller and continued as a federal employee with the Federal Aviation Administration.
A devout Catholic, Bob lived his faith in action. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, a Eucharistic minister, a choir member, and a prayer group leader. His passion for worship extended to his time with the music ministry of the Charismatic Renewal, where he joyfully praised the Lord through song and prayer. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, guiding him to serve and inspire others with humility and grace.
Bob’s love for his family was unparalleled. Married to his beloved Irene for 74 years, he cherished every moment they spent together. His children, grandchildren, and extended family knew him as a source of wisdom, strength, and unconditional love.
Bob enjoyed the peacefulness of fishing and boating, often finding God’s presence in the beauty of nature. Whether casting a line or leading a prayer, he approached life with gratitude and joy.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Irene, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings and their families and countless friends whose lives he touched with his kindness and faith.
A Mass celebrating Bob’s life will be held at St. Sylvesters Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze on Friday, December 13, 2024 at 10:00 am. Reception to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his honor.
Bob Dasho’s legacy of love, service, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He has now found his eternal peace with the Lord, he is so deeply loved.
