Carolyn Pugh

Carolyn Slaye Pugh, 80, of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away September 9, 2023.  She was born November 21, 1942 in Birmingham, Alabama.  Carolyn loved to be surrounded by her family and friends.  She loved to vacation in Panama City Beach; and loved to fish and be in the warm sun.  She also loved her cats dearly.  She served as an Elkette for many years on Pensacola Beach.  Carolyn loved to spend time cooking with Bland (her husband and our father), who was the love of her life. 

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Garland Bland Pugh, Jr.  She is survived by son, Michael Pugh and wife Sally of Gulf Breeze; son, Garland “Bo” Pugh and wife Teri of Pell City, Alabama; son, David Pugh and wife Shannon Miller-Pugh of Pensacola; daughter, Carolyn “Hope” Austin-Barcia and husband Pietro Barcia of Saddlebrook, New Jersey; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 8:00-9:00 AM at Rose Lawn Funeral Home.  Procession will depart the funeral home at 9:15 with Graveside services to be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at 10:00 AM with Chaplain Ken Griffin officiating.
