Caroline (Momo) Sarah Rountree Brinson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2009. She was 82 years old and very proud of it, she told everyone!! She was known to all her family and friends as Momo. She was loved by all and especially known for her "Momo" brownies. Caroline was born in North Augusta, South Carolina on May 5, 1926. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Bruton Rountree and Carolyn Doughty Capers Rountree of Beech Island, SC. Momo is survived by Carl M. Brinson; children, Marshall N. Brinson and Lydia Balkom, Connie and Rodney Randle, Susan and Mike Tolbert; grandchildren, Christopher Randle, Sarah Randle, Morgan Tolbert and Lauren Tolbert . She especially loved to spend time with all of her grandchildren, they were her life!! Also her brother, Richard and Martiel Rountree, Spartanburg, SC and their children, Rick and Melanie Rountree, David and Patti Rountree, Ron and Tricia Rountree and Debi Rountree. Also some very special friends, Laura Ann (Granny) Dulaney and her family, Dot and Jack McElgunn, and Wilma and Bob Claude, Georgia Bolton, and Pat Sturtz and many more friends that were very special to her. She loved to talk to them on the phone. Caroline was a member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church since Nov. 1974. We would really like to thank Dr. Anita Westafer for all her loving care of mom for many years, also her wonderful staff, they were always so special to Mom. The staff, nurses and doctors, and ministers for Covenant Hospice that have been so kind to Mom in the last few weeks of her life. They really helped make it so much easier for her and the family. We appreciate all of them; Rev. Ruth Knight, Dr. Neal Epler and Dr. Herb Sadler for all their loving support and prayers during this time. In lieu of Flowers, Mom has requested donations to be made in her memory to Joyce Goldenberg Covenant Hospice Inpatient Residence, 10075 Hillview Road, Pensacola, FL 32514 or to United Methodist Children's Home, PO Box 830, Selma, AL 36702-9900. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 10th, 2009 at 1 pm at Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church in the Chapel with a grave side service immediately following at Rose Lawn Cemetery with Dr. Herb Sadler officiating.
