Capt. Randall King Tickle, USMC (ret.), age 86, of Gulf Breeze, was called home peacefully with his family at his side, June 11, 2020. He was born March 24, 1934 in Bluefield, VA to the late Charles and Lillian Tickle. Randall was a proud 30-year U.S. Marine Corps veteran; he was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation – Gallantry Cross of Color. He began his career as an enlisted Marine and climbed the ranks to retire as a Captain. He traveled to 17 countries during his tenure.
Randall was a law school graduate and had a love of golf and Nascar. He coached baseball, softball and T-ball for the Gulf Breeze Sports Association. Randall’s family and constant feline companions, Sassy and CeeCee were his joy.
He is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Hazel “Ann” Tickle; parents, Charles A. Tickle and Lillian R. Tickle; son, Randy Tickle, brothers, Roger W. Tickle and Charles T. Tickle. Those left to honor his memory are his daughters, Kathy T. Kirk, of Gulf Breeze, and Judy T. (Ronnie) Lilly, of Pensacola; grandchildren, Tyler D. Kirk, of Virginia, Alex K. Tickle, of Gulf Breeze, Breanna M. Lilly, of Pensacola, Arianna N. Jones, of Pensacola, and Savannah A. Jones, of Pensacola; sister, Maxine T. Roaten, of Virginia; brother-in-law, Joe C. Rowe, of Alabama; Daughter-in Law, Elizabeth Tickle, of Gulf Breeze; and a host of extended family and close friends. The family offers special thanks their friends at Baptist Home Health and Covenant Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, June 26, 2020 at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, FL 32508. A funeral cortege will line-up and depart in procession promptly at 12:00pm, June 26, 2020 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563. All attendees arriving at NAS with the funeral procession will be under escort and must depart with the procession regardless of military affiliation.
