Beverly Coy

Beverly Jean Adcock Coy May 11, 1926 - November 8, 2010 Beverly Jean Adcock Coy of Gulf Breeze, Florida passed away November 8, 2010 after 84 wonderful years of life filled with family and friends. She was born on May 11, 1926. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Golda Adcock of Tulsa, OK, and Lt. Col. Malcolm Lee Coy (U.S. Army, retired), her husband of 49 years. She leaves behind her proudest legacy, her six children; Craig Coy of Leesburg, VA, Curtis Coy of Perry Hall, MD, Chris Coy of Dublin, OH, Carl Coy of Silverthorne, CO, Cathy King of St. Petersburg, FL and Cindy Ready of Gulf Breeze, FL. They were her pride and joy along with her 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Beverly grew up in Waterloo, Iowa and graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in home economics in 1949. She was a proud member of Chi Omega and enjoyed reminiscing about her adventures with her sorority sisters. She traveled the world, living in California, Virginia, Kentucky, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota and Germany. Everywhere she went she won over new friends with her smile, generosity, and kindness. Her years in Gulf Breeze revolved around her active and passionate involvement within the church community. Beverly had been an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church and All Saints Episcopal Church before converting and being welcomed into the St. Ann's Catholic Church family. There will be a memorial mass and celebration of her life at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Gulf Breeze. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either St. Ann's Catholic Church (PO Box 1057, Gulf Breeze, FL 32562) or Covenant Hospice of Pensacola (2001 North Palafox Street, Pensacola, FL 32501) in her memory. The family sends a heartfelt thank you to all of the wonderful and caring staff at the Gulf Breeze Courtyard. Her smile, generosity, kindness and unwavering optimism will be missed by many but never forgotten.
