Arthur James

Arthur Dennis James loving husband, father and brother, 72 of Gulf Breeze, passed away peacefully, March 19, surrounded by his loving family, in a local hospital. Arthur was born February 23rd, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts. He married his childhood sweetheart, Gloria, in May of 1954. He served in the USAF for 21 years, including a tour in Vietnam. Arthur was a very loving and giving family man. His wife and children took priority over everything in his life. He could always be relied upon. He gave and gave, that was the story of his life. He was a true fighter and gentle loving spirit. Even though his body began to fail, he fought to stay by his wife's side to protect and love her. Arthur was preceded in death by his son, Arthur, his parents Mary and Ernie Tree, sister Patricial McNew, grandson Shane Napier and son-in-laws Patrick Hughes and Billy Napier. Arthur will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Gloria, daughters Debra Lowery (Sean), Gloria Napier, and Linda Brady (Jim), sons Joseph, Gary, and Anthony James, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, brothers Edwin and Ernie Tree, a numerous amount of nieces, nephews and friends, and the pets he adored, including Molly whom loved him dearly. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, March 23rd at Rose Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 24th at St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, Fl. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Reception immediately following committal service at St. Ann Parish Hall in Gulf Breeze, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.
