Arnold Weeks, Sr.

March 12, 1928 — February 3, 2012

Arnold David Weeks, Sr. died on Friday, February 3, 2012 in a Pensacola, Florida hospital after a lengthy illness. He handled his illness with grace. Mr. Weeks was the youngest of 11 children born to Beecher and Lydia Weeks. He was born in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida on March 12, 1928. Arnold was a child of the Great Depression and was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served in the Pacific Theater on the U.S.S. Bass. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Lydia Mathews Weeks; six children, Arnold D. Weeks, Jr. (Cyndy), Edwin Weeks (Matilde), Janie Long (Jim), Marie Cutts (Brian), William "Bill" Weeks, John Weeks; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Weeks Stull (Mark), Anthony Weeks, Jacob Long, David Weeks, Zachary Cutts, and Matthew Cutts; and twin brother Orville Weeks. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at St. Sylvester's Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, Florida form 9:30 am-11:00 am. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am at St. Sylvester's with burial in the Rose Lawn Cemetery in Gulf Breeze immediately after the service. A reception at St. Sylvester's follows the interment. Honored to be pallbearers are: Anthony Weeks, Jacob Long, James Clark, James Bailey, Warren Weeks, and Vernon Mathews.
