Anne Hanline

June 10, 1922 — December 28, 2013

Anne Sekerka Hanline passed away peacefully in her sleep December 28, 2013. Anne was born June 10, 1922, in Toledo, Ohio, graduating from Waite High School and attending Toledo University. She moved to Gulf Breeze in 1969 with her husband and family. Anne devoted her life to her family, always giving of herself so that her husband, children, and grandchildren would be happy. She is recognized by her family and friends as having both inner and outer beauty. She was patient and forgiving and found a place in her heart for everyone- always gracious, making everyone feel loved and welcomed in her home. Her six grandchildren have warm memories of afternoons of cookie baking, playing hide-and-seek and other games, and popping corn in the hot air popper before watching a movie; wagon rides to "grandma's park", calendars as gifts at Christmas, and ice cream after a visit to the dentist. She is survived by her children, whom she nurtured when they were young and supported when they grew up, Manning Harold Hanline, Jr., Mary Frances Hanline, and David Hanline; grandchildren Allison, Andrew, John, Jonathon, Leigha, and Trinity Anne; great granddaughter Alice; her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Doris Sekerka of Saline, Michigan; daughters-in-law Margaret and Mary; nieces Sue Sekerka and Kathy Nelson; nephews Bradley Sekerka, Scott Sekerka and Patrick Quinlan; loyal neighbors Blair and Hope Laughlin; and other relatives and friends far and near. Anne is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Manning Harold Hanline, Sr., and her parents George and Frances Sekerka of Toledo, Ohio. The family thanks the staff of Home Instead, Bay Breeze Nursing Home, The Blake of Gulf Breeze, Covenant Hospice, and Dr. Karen Pennington. Each was an important part of our mother's last years. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 PM, Sunday, January 19, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Gulf Breeze. Flowers are appreciated, or contributions may be made to an organization benefiting children.
