Ann Wade

Ann Marie Sonksen, daughter of Gerald and Arlene Sonksen was born January 14, 1965 at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Denison, Iowa. Until the age of nine her family resided in Schleswig, Iowa before moving to Kearney, Nebraska in 1974. She completed her education in the Kearney Schools and graduated from Kearney High School in 1983. She especially enjoyed being a member of the band and performed with the marching band as a drill team member. She attended both University of Nebraska in Lincoln and Kearney receiving her B. S. degree in 1990 and completed her Masters in Adult Education & Distance Learning from the University of Phoenix in 2006. After graduation she went to Chicago, Illinois and was employed with Warner-Lambert and eventually with Pfizer, Inc. living in Cincinnati, Ohio and Atlanta, Georgia. In Georgia she met and married Mitchell Eugene Wade on May 20, 2000. They moved to Gulf Breeze, Florida in January 2005 where she died on October 23, 2010. Survivors include her husband Mitchell Wade, and her two wonderful dogs, Brick and Boo, parents Gerald and Arlene Sonksen of Kearney, Nebraska, one sister Brenda, nephew Derek, niece Ashley of Aurora, Illinois, brother Bryce, wife Paula, nephew Conner and nieces Taylor and Sloan, of Scottsdale, Arizona, one brother Paul and his wife Brenda of Lincoln, Nebraska as well as extended family members. Her grandparents, John and Helen Sonksen and Herbert and Amanda Miller preceded her in death. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday October 28th, 2010 at 1:00p.m. at the Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church Community Life Center located at 4115 Soundside Dr., Gulf Breeze, FL 32563. Special thanks to all the Wonderful caring staff members at Covenant Hospice. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Covenant Hospice of Northwest Florida and Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church.
