Alice Powell

Alice Evelyn Powell, 97 left this world to be with her heavenly father on February 23rd, 2015 at the Haven of our Lady of Peace, Pensacola, FL. She was surrounded by her loving family. Evelyn was born in Selma, Alabama July 30th, 1917. She is preceded in death by her husband Clayton Carrol Powell. She is survived by her children Carol Jean Yuill (husband Doug) of Gulf Breeze, FL, Alice Ann Powell of Gulf Breeze, FL, Clayton(Sonny) Powell (wife Wilma) of Interlachen, FL, and Eunice Evelyn Dinkins (husband John) of Daphne, AL. The loves of her life were her five grandchildren Teresa Hawthorne, Lisa Jacobi, Michael Taylor, Angela Meadows and Doug Powell. She also had 9 great grandchildren. Evelyn was a member of the Hoe & Hum Garden Club of Gulf Breeze and a member of First Baptist Church of Gulf Breeze. She was an avid crafter who loved sharing her work with others. The family would like to extend gratitude and appreciation to the nursing staff at the Haven for the excellent care. A special thanks to the staff of the Angel Wing for taking such loving care of her. The family will receive friends at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, Gulf Breeze Thursday, February 26th from 1-2:00 PM. There will be a small service at 2:00 PM with burial directly afterward. Loving family and friends are welcome to join us after the graveside at the home of Jean and Doug Yuill, 102 Julia Way, Gulf Breeze.
