A.J. Duncan 1929 - 2008 A.J. Duncan, 78, husband of Billie Ann Brady Duncan, died Monday, March 17, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Duncan was born December 28, 1929 in Greenville to the late James Ronald Duncan and Lillian Ward Duncan. He retired from the U.S. Air Force, having served in Korea and Vietnam. He served as a foreign intelligence advisor under former President George Bush, Sr., and was a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. He was a Shriner and a Mason, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was instrumental in the fundraising efforts to erect the Simpsonville Veterans Memorial. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Tricia Ayers and her husband Terry; two sons Rick Woodall and his wife Linda and Tab Clardy and his wife Julie; two sisters Pauline Hill and Mary Duncan Owings and her husband DeRoy; and five grandchildren, Paige Ayers, Dustin Woodall, Adam Clardy, Rusty Godfrey and David Godfrey. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday in the Chapel of Fletcher Funeral Service, Greenville, S.C. with Rev. Steve Christopher and Rev. Julian Galloway. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service. Burial with full military honors will take place at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL. The family is at the home of Terry and Tricia Ayers, 5 Harness Trail in Simpsonville, S.C.
