Rita Filipiak

Rita Mary Filipiak, age 89, of Navarre, was called home November 17, 2019.  She was born August 08, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Walter and Lillian Mason.  Rita was a proud member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church where she served as a eucharistic minister.  She was known for her love of travel and spending time with her family.  She was affectionately known as a “Rosary Warrior,” by her children.  She was always ready to add to her prayer list.

Rita is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Filipiak; son, Carl Filipiak; her parents; and her siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rosemary Lee of Milton, FL, Diane Garrett of Navarre, FL, Mark Filipiak of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Luke Filipiak of Navare, FL; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 10:00am, on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 6464 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563, a reception in the Parish Hall will follow.  At 1:00pm a committal service will begin followed by interment at Rose Lawn Cemetery, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563.
