John Kemper

John Andrew Kemper, 46 of Navarre, FL passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Covenant Care, Joyce Goldenberg Residence, an inpatient hospice facility in Pensacola, FL. On July 4, 2016 John suffered a catastrophic heart attack from which he never recovered, despite fighting courageously for five long months. John was born on July 10, 1970 in Ft. Walton Beach, FL to John and Virginia (Kolhoff) Kemper. Aside from a year spent in Massachusetts, he lived his entire life in the Florida panhandle, first in Ft. Walton Beach, then Mary Esther and finally in Navarre, FL. John graduated from Ft. Walton Beach High School in 1988 and later earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Troy State University. After working approximately 10 years at a local retail grocery, where he was the Assistant Store Manager, John decided to start his own business and established “Johnny K’s Lawn Care Service” as sole proprietor/operator in Navarre. John loved spending his free time with his family, especially his daughter, Logan Wilkins, as well as his girlfriend, Wendy Tourissini and his beloved dog, Piper. He was also an avid baseball fan and fisherman. He is survived by his daughter, Logan Wilkins; mother Ginny Kemper of Navarre; brother Mike and spouse Renee Kemper of Seaford, VA; brother Chuck Kemper of Navarre; sister Tina and husband Tom Collins of Chugiak, AK; five nieces; two nephews as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, John (Jack) Kemper. A Celebration of Life service will take place on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. at Rose Lawn Funeral Home of Gulf Breeze. Cremation will follow. A funeral mass will be held at St. Sylvester Catholic Church at a later date.
