Frederick "Ricky" Morrison died in his home on November 22, 2018 in Gulf Breeze, Florida due to complications following his fight with cancer. He was 61.
Fred was born on September 22, 1957 in Anniston, AL to his parents, Pat and Freddie Morrison. He graduated from Gadsden State with a degree in nursing, then moved to Pensacola Beach, Fl in 1988 where he later met his wife, Catherine. The Morrisons lived in Gulf Breeze where Fred worked as an operating room nurse at Baptist, Sacred Heart, and West Florida Hospitals. Fred was a caring and compassionate nurse, well liked and respected by his patients and coworkers alike. Fred was a passionate fan of music, the beach, and Alabama football.
Fred is survived by his wife Catherine; step-sons, Chaz and Brandon; granddaughters, Naomi and Anabelle; father, Freddie; sisters, Kim and Patti; brother-in-law, Mick; and nephews, Michael and Tony. He is preceded in death by his mother, Pat.
Fred will be cremated and have his ashes interred in his family plot beside his mother in a private ceremony next month in Anniston, AL. A celebration of life will take place on Pensacola Beach next spring. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Fred's life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
