Donald Bush

Donald "Don" Oren Bush, 67, passed away on June 12, 2018 in Gulf Breeze, Florida.

Known by his family and friends as a loving and devoted husband, a compassionate friend and an optimist at heart, Don saw the good in all people. A native Floridian, Don was born in Panama City and spent his childhood in Byrneville.

Don earned his Associate of Arts degree from Pensacola State, his Bachelors of Science from California State University and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

While living in California, he met and fell deeply in love with his future life partner, Pat. After being married in Hawaii, Don and Pat spent 33 beautiful years together. Their many adventures together included international and national travel and many car camping excursions. He served as the President of the Pensacola Heritage Foundation in 2012 and was a longtime member of the Great Coast Arts Festival. Don and Pat share a love of art and enjoyed collecting 2 and 3-dimensional art pieces.

Don worked as a CPA and then embarked on a career at IBM. He enjoyed golfing, was an apiarist and had a talent with cultivating flowers and plants. Don turned the 200-acre family farm into a hunting camp which was enjoyed by many.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Nathelle and Enos Bush. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his wife, Pat, his loyal Labrador retrievers, Lily and Case and countless friends.

A Celebration of Don's life will be held on June 29, 2018 at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, 2942 Gulf Breeze Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at a later late.
